About Greater Brookfield
Greater Brookfield offers the promise of an exciting mixed-use development which will serve as a focal point for the Borough. The scheme is to provide a vibrant and attractive new destination of shops, entertainment, facilities and homes based in the heart of Broxbourne, Hertfordshire.

At the centre of the emerging master plan it is proposed to construct, Brookfield Riverside, a new traffic free shopping mall with convenient links to the existing Marks and Spencer and Tesco stores and the Brookfield Retail Park. The combination of new purpose built facilities with the presence of existing major retailers will constitute an attractive and sustainable "Borough Centre".

The hub of Brookfield Riverside will be a new riverside plaza in the form of an amphitheatre which surrounds the river and forms a vital link in the New River Green Chain. The plaza will include a variety of waterside cafes, restaurants and gastro bars at balcony level as well as a flexible open space.

The scheme will also provide some stunning open spaces to complement the experience.

A new 100-room hotel, health and fitness centre, cinema, ten pin bowling and crèche are planned to cater for the old and the young with around 300 new-build homes being provided on nearby sites.

Essential new roads and transport links will be provided to address current traffic congestion. Pedestrians and cyclists will also benefit from improvements including safer and more extensive paths, while opportunities to travel by public transport will also be increased.

Construction is expected to commence in 2013 and the Centre due to open in 2016.

Greater Brookfield will bring about further improvements, providing not only a boost to the local economy but also new facilities which complement existing provision.
